Share the Library with a Friend & You Could Both Win!

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and we’re celebrating by encouraging our community to share the benefits of a Wilmington Memorial Library card with friends and family!

When someone signs up for a Wilmington Memorial Library card using your referral, you’ll both be entered for a chance to win a prize.

How It Works

1. Pick up a referral sheet at the library.
Show your Wilmington Memorial Library card at the service desk to receive a referral sheet.

2. Share the library with someone new.
Fill out the referral sheet with your information, then invite a friend, family member, neighbor, or coworker who doesn’t already have a Wilmington Memorial Library card to sign up.

3. Get entered to win!
Once your referral returns the completed sheet and signs up for a library card, both of you will be entered into the prize drawing.

Win Some Bookish Goodies

Thanks to our friends at Whitelam Books in Reading, MA and AJ’s Kitchen in Wilmington, MA, we have two prize packages to give away! One prize package will go to a referring cardholder, and the other will go to a new cardholder.

Each prize package includes:

  • A Whitelam Books tote bag
  • Books and activities from Whitelam Books

  • A WML-branded tote bag filled with WML and Friends of WML swag, a book light, and a custom bookmark

Know someone who could use a library card? Invite them to join the library, and you could both win! See below for eligibility and raffle rules.

  • Participants must have a valid Wilmington Memorial Library card to participate.
  • Referred participants must be new Wilmington Memorial Library cardholders who are not currently in the MVLC system. Existing cardholders with lost, expired, or replacement cards do not qualify as new cardholders unless they are required to complete a new library card registration because their information is no longer in the system.
  • Multiple referrals are allowed. Each eligible new cardholder referral counts as an additional entry for the referring participant.
  • Prizes will be awarded to individuals, not households. Each eligible participant may only win one prize.
  • Winners will be selected at random and contacted using the information provided on the referral sheet.
  • The referral program runs during September in celebration of Library Card Sign-up Month; referral sheets must be returned to the library by September 30th to qualify. Raffle will be drawn on October 1st.
  • Patrons of all ages are welcome to participate.
  • New cardholders (who sign up during LCSUM) can also refer friends and family and earn additional raffle entries for each qualifying referral.
  • Referring cardholders: Each qualifying referral earns you one entry into the referrer raffle.
  • New cardholders: Each new cardholder who signs up through the referral program receives one entry into the new cardholder raffle.
