During Summer 2021, storytimes will be held outdoors (or virtually in the case of rain). Please check the events calendar page for further details.  A new schedule will be begin in Fall 2021.

The library offers a variety of drop-in and registration storytime programs.  Storytimes help build a foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading.  Kids will enjoy age appropriate books, songs, rhymes, movement activities and more!

Registration Storytimes

The library offers six-week registration storytime sessions during the fall, winter and spring for babies, toddlers, and 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

Baby Times
This program of songs, rhymes, games and picture books is for babies under the age of two years and their caregivers.  Siblings are welcome to participate if caregivers cannot attend without them.

Participants are asked to register for either Wednesday or Thursday.

Time for Twos
This fun program is for two year-olds and features books, songs, rhymes, music and movement. Parents and caregivers accompany the child into the story room and participate in the activities.

Storytime for Three Year Olds
This theme-based storytime for three year olds includes books, rhymes, music and a fun craft.  It is designed to be a “kids-only” program, but parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.

Storytime for Four and Five Year Olds (Tuesdays, 10:30 am)
This theme-based storytime for four year olds includes books, rhymes, music and a fun craft.  It is designed to be a “kids-only” program, but parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.

Preschool Storytime
This mixed-age storytime for preschoolers includes books, rhymes, music and a fun craft.  Parents and caregivers are encouraged to accompany the child and participate in the activities.

Saturday Baby Times

This program of songs, rhymes, games and picture books is for babies under the age of two years and their caregivers.

Friday Morning Storytime

This mixed-age storytime for kids ages 2-6 includes books, rhymes, music and a fun craft.  Parents and caregivers are to accompany the child and participate in the activities.

Space is limited.  Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

PJ Storytime

Kids ages 2-5 can wear pajamas and bring a favorite teddy bear or blanket and enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and more.

Stories and Sweets

Parents and caregivers and kids ages 2 and up are invited to drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and sweets!

Storytimes will be cancelled on days the Wilmington Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather.
