Welcome to the Friends of the Library Donated Jewelry Sale!

Since 2021, our annual sales have helped raised funds to support the many services provided by our beloved library. We couldn’t do it without the generous support of our customers, volunteers, and donors–thank you!

Here, you’ll find details about our next sale, donation requests, and the general rules for the event. Due to the popularity of the sale and the well-being of our customers, we’ve implemented a few guidelines to ensure a fun and exciting experience for all. All proceeds benefit the Wilmington Memorial Library. Thank you for supporting the Friends of WML and the Library!

Important Sale Information

The 6th Annual Sale will be Friday, April 10 & Saturday, April 11, 2026 

Dates for the 2027 Sale are Friday, April 2 & Saturday, April 3, 2027.

Timed Entry on Friday Evening

Due to the popularity of the event, timed tickets are required for entry on Friday between 5-6:30pm.

• Starting at 2pm on Friday, you can pick up an entry ticket on the first floor of the library adjacent to the circulation desk.
• Tickets are one ticket per person.
• Each ticket includes a designated entry time and number. You will be called to enter the sale based on your time and number. Tickets will be available for the following time slots: 5pm, 5:15pm, 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 6pm, 6:15pm, and 6:30pm.
• There will be no entry between 5pm and 6:30pm on Friday without a timed ticket. After 6:30pm, no ticket is needed for entry.
• No tickets are needed on Saturday.

Additional Sale Info

• Prices are firm—no negotiations, as this is a fundraiser. No returns or exchanges. Purchase at your own risk.
• No large bags, backpacks, purses, or bulky gear allowed. Space is limited and we want to ensure everyone has room to shop comfortably. You can store bags near the cashier at your own risk.
• This is a fundraiser staffed completely by volunteers. We do our best to identify and label jewelry appropriately, but we are not professional jewelers. We appreciate your understanding.
• On Friday, between 5-6:30pm, you will be admitted to the sale at the time written on your ticket. There is no early entry. We encourage shoppers to visit the Bookstore Next Door or go outside, as you will only be admitted based on the time and number of your ticket.
• If necessary, we may temporarily hold the line to control the number of people in the room due to fire safety regulations.
• For our higher-end jewelry section, staff will place your items in clear bags and leave them with staff to be purchased at a special register. You may continue shopping until you are ready to purchase all your jewelry.
• Stealing will not be tolerated, and anyone caught stealing will be asked to leave.
• Please be courteous to fellow shoppers — and enjoy yourself!

Donate Jewelry to Support the Library

We accept jewelry donations year-round—feel free to drop off items at the library’s circulation desk while making room for new treasures from this year’s sale! We welcome all types of jewelry in good condition, including: pins, watches, necklaces, earrings, rings, kid’s jewelry, men’s jewelry, and more. Whether new, gently worn, gold, silver, precious stones, or costume, your donation supports the library. Donation forms are available upon request.
