The majority of these pictures are from the collection of Ed Nelson Eames (b. 1858), who was a prominent member of one of Wilmington’s oldest families. He was a lumber broker and also served as selectman in the early 1900s, moderator from 1909-35, state representative from 1923-24, and was a library trustee for 50 years. Around the turn of the century, he bought a camera and began taking photos. The photos are currently in the possession of Larz Neilson.
