WML is excited to partner with the artist-led organization For Freedoms, to make sure the voices of Wilmington teens in grades 6-12 are heard before the election this November. This program is based on President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “Four Freedoms”: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, freedom from fear. The For Freedoms project aims to encourage community discussion and civic action.

Select the appropriate “For Freedom” prompt and submit your response. Your prompts will be made into lawn signs that will be displayed on the library lawn until Election Day. Be careful when selecting your prepositions; each sign has a different meaning:

  • Freedom of means: challenging limitations
  • Freedom for means: creating space
  • Freedom to means: taking action
  • Freedom from means: something you’re against
