    The Board of Library Trustees consists of six members appointed by the Town Manager for three-year terms, with two members appointed annually.The Trustees are authorized to set policies for the library. The Board of Library Trustees meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the library in the James Banda Room; from September through June.  In the photo, members of the Board of Library Trustees are as follows: front row- Daniel Hall, Joan Grady, Eileen MacDougall; back row - James Lemay, Donald Pearson, Jeffrey Nussbaum.

    Linda Molloy, local artist, currently has her watercolor paintings and photography on display in the library's meeting room. Her watercolors reflect her love of flowers, while her landscape photography depicts the essence of nature. Linda is Co-Chair of the Wilmngton Council for the Arts and has participated in the Annual Art Exhibition since 1990.

    Congratulations to Kathy Catanzano, the winner of the Friends of the Library Boston themed Gift Basket. Kathy and her granddaughter Elizabeth Stokes stopped by to pick up the basket. Thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket. All proceeds benefit the library.

    The Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) recently  presented the 22nd biennial public relations awards to the winning applicants at the Association’s Annual Conference at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Wilmington Memorial Library was awarded 2nd place in the Advertisement Category for the billboard "Why Buy? Saving Money Starts Here" which was located on Route 38 during November 2013.

    The library's 3D printer is out on the floor and accepting reservations! If you have an .stl file you created in your own computer aided design (CAD) software or downloaded one from a site like thingiverse.com, you can go here and reserve your 2 hour block.

    We're happy to say that, thanks to the Friends of the Library's annual appeal, there is currently no charge for a 2 hour print job. However, jobs that take longer than two hours may be subject to a charge.

    If you attended one of the demos at the library over the past few months and were waiting for the printer to be available, your wait is over. If you missed the demos, you'll be able to catch up quickly because technology librarian, Brad McKenna, will be on hand during your reservation time to teach you how to use it.

    The Children’s Department is happy to announce the launch of their eight Early Literacy Fun Packs! These backpacks are filled with books and activities targeting the five early literacy skills, Reading, Writing, Singing, Playing and Talking. Each backpack includes books, a music CD, a Magic Board, and toys related to a theme. An Activity Guide for the parent or caregiver is also included, which consists of activities, songs, and games that help support early literacy skills at home. The eight themes include Alphabet, Bears, Bedtime, Colors, Counting, Farm, Five Senses, and Shapes. You can find the Early Literacy Fun Packs in the Children’s Room at the circulation desk. The backpacks can be checked out for one week at a time and can be placed on hold by Wilmington patrons.   Stop by the library today and check out a Fun Pack!
